Sahara customers meet Captain Fantastic, Graeme Smith at book signing
Captain Fantastic, Graeme Smith, fresh from becoming South Africa’s Cricketer of the Year after his heroics in the recent England and Australian tours made time to attend a signing session for his book titled “A Captain’s Diary 2007-2009”, on Thursday, 13 August 2009, at the Sahara Computers Midrand office. Customers and staff had their books and cricket memorabilia signed by Smith, who has been a brand ambassador of Sahara since 2004.
Sahara is also the proud sponsor of the book and its countrywide book launches which started in July this year. The company recently renewed its original 5 year relationship with the Proteas captain which fittingly coincided with the launch of his book. “We are very excited to support Graeme on his book which chronicles the last 2 years of his career” remarks Gary Naidoo, Deputy MD at Sahara. “We have seen him progress in his career through turbulent times but he has always triumphed.” Smith has always had the support of Sahara throughout his cricket career as he has attributes that are similar to those of Sahara’s.
Smith will also be leading the Sahara All Stars Team on the 12th of September at the second Sahara St. David’s T20 Cricket Festival to be held at St. David’s Marist School in Inanda, Sandton. The Sahara All Stars feature match will provide students from around South Africa a chance to play with SA Cricket’s finest like Graeme Smith, Makhaya Nitini, Wayne Parnell and many others. It further presents them with an opportunity to get selected for the U 19 national cricket team.
Smith supporters felt honored to meet him and Sahara trusts that all who attended the book signing will enjoy reading their copy of his book.
Sahara Computers, global supplier of information, communication and digital lifestyle technology, joined representatives of government on Wednesday, 24th of June 2009, in Maputo to celebrate the launch of the Sahara assembly plant where Dzowo Computers will be assembled.
